Our predoctoral student, Ariana Rueda, has traveled to China for a 3-month internship at the laboratory of Professors Peng Chen and Xingyuan Fan, as part of her international PhD program. The Protein Chemical Biology and Bioorthogonal Chemistry Laboratory is located within the College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering at Peking University in Beijing, China.
During her stay, Ariana will focus on the recombinant production of nanocarrier proteins incorporating unnatural amino acids. The objective of her project is to introduce an unnatural amino acid into CXCR4-targeted protein nanoparticles, enabling site-specific conjugation via alkyne-azide cycloaddition. This work forms part of her PhD project, dedicated to engineering a new generation of high-precision, tumor-targeted nanoconjugates.
Her internship, has been supported by the Chinese Goverment Scolarship (CGS) awarded by the Chinese Scolarship Council (CSC).
